Welcome

Fremont County School District #2 encompasses approximately 1300 square miles.  There are only three schools within the district - housed in two buildings, both of which are located in Dubois. The district serves approximately 153 students. The elementary, middle and high schools are located in the same building. Grades K-5 are self-contained with 70 students. The middle school houses 35 students with a transitional sixth grade classroom and departmentalized grades 7-8. There are 48

(9-12) high school students.  District staff are now all in one building.  The central office is housed in a new administration building, which is located on the school property and consists of the superintendent, a business manager, an AP/AR person and an administrative assistant.  The District employs 1 superintendent, 1 K-12 school principal, 3 central office support staff, 25 certified staff members and 12 classified staff.  The District's Technology Department is housed both in the school building and also in an office located in the administration building. The Technology Department consists of a Technology Director, and a K-12 Library/Media Specialist.

After several years of study, planning and design work, the renovation and additions to a previously existing K-8 building to create a new K-12 facility are nearly complete.  The entire K-12 facility, as expected, was ready for the students and staff at the start of the 2014-2015 school year.  There are only a limited amount of cosmetic and/or landscaping items to be completed.  The Completed K-12 facility will provide students, staff and community with a wonderful educational environment for years to come.

Fremont County School District #2 operates on an approximate General Fund budget of $4,483,008.  The District partners with Fremont County BOCES, Central Wyoming College BOCHES, the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Equality Network, as well as local businesses to provide our students the opportunity to participate in dual credit courses, virtual classroom activities, "School-to-Work" Voc/Tech educational offerings and Advanced Placement student achievement.  Technological services and adult education courses are offered to all community members (including students) through the Dubois cyber Cafe. The Central Wyoming College - Dubois Community Outreach Services Center also provides general interest classes, children's courses, computer classes, sports and fitness, credit and non-credit classes to our students and community members alike.

Dubois student extra-curricular activities include football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track, drama, band/choir, cultural exchange, publications, yearbook, independent music study, Student Council and the National Honor Society. Students may also participate in golf, cross-country and rodeo in a cooperative agreement with neighboring districts.
